Fundraise $50
Why is there a $50 fundraising goal this year?
This year marks the 50th and final Run, Walk & Roll, and the $50 fundraising goal represents one dollar for every year this event has supported children with physical disabilities.
Is $50 required to participate?
Yes, we are encouraging all participants to aim for a minimum of $50 in fundraising. It’s a meaningful, achievable goal that allows everyone to play a part in finishing this 50-year legacy strong.
What does my $50 support?
Funds raised support Easter Seals Ontario programs, including mobility and accessibility equipment, camps, advocacy, and services that help children gain independence and confidence.
Can I raise more than $50?
Absolutely—and we encourage it. Every additional dollar increases the impact and helps more children and families.
Why is this year so special?
This is the final year of the longest-running run in York Region, with a total impact of more than $3.2 million raised. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be part of the closing chapter of a cherished community tradition.
Fundraising online is the simplest, easiest and most effective way to collect pledges and meet your fundraising goal. Just think of how many work related and/or personal e-mail contacts you have in your address book that you can reach out to for support. Online fundraising is secure and a great way to reach many contacts all at once. It’s as easy as…
- Register for the event online as an individual, team captain or member of a team.
- Create you own personalized online fundraising page. Customize your page with a photo, a personal message and your call to action. Be honest. Be genuine. Be creative. Let everyone know exactly why you are running or walking for Easter Seals kids.
- Send out the ask! E-mail the link to your personal fundraising page to friends, family members, colleagues, business associates, clients and anyone else you think may support you. In your e-mail, explain what you are doing, what Easter Seals Ontario does, why you are doing it, and how people can help support your cause. Your contacts will be able to make a secure donation by credit card through a link that is included automatically in the e-mail. Your donors will even receive an electronic tax receipt instantly via e-mail. All donations of $20.00 or more will be eligible for a tax receipt.
Fundraising online eliminates the need to fill out pledge forms and worry about collecting and holding onto cash and cheques. Most importantly, fundraising online saves you from having to wait in line on race morning to turn in your pledges.
Online Fundraising Using Social Media
Online fundraising doesn’t end with your personal online fundraising page. Try using social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Put out an ask to all your friends on Facebook and direct them to your personal fundraising page. Or, tweet about your run or walk and provide a link to your fundraising page. Leading up to the day of the race, update your followers on your training and preparation for the big day.
